Our team, led by Dr. Dav Doodnauth, provides high quality, dedicated continuous care to each patient, helping each person navigate their way through the medical system with a focus on personalized patient-centered care. We put our patient’s goals first and partner with each person to give them the best advice with the most current research available while being honest about patient outcome expectations and health goal achievement.
On-going Patient Care
- Frequent resident assessment in the first 30 days, higher than state regulations
- Minimization of rehospitalization
- Direct communication between the resident and his/her family, our practice and nursing
staff - Triage Nurse available from 8am – 4pm for care coordination
- Practitioners are on call 24/7 to address issues and concerns
- Physicians and practitioners are independent from the facility

About Us
Dav Doodnauth, MD
Founder of CareFirst Medical PSC
Dr Doodnauth, a Harvard graduate, received his medical degree from Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, D.C. He completed an internship at Washington Hospital Center in D.C. and residency at Mountainside Hospital in Montclair, New Jersey. Dr Doodnauth is Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
He is also certified by the National Board of Physicians and Surgeons in Internal Medicine with a Focused Practice in Hospital Medicine and Geriatric Medicine.
Dr. Doodnauth relocated to Lexington, KY in 2006 and has been in private practice since 2010. He founded CareFirst Medical and is currently affiliated with CHI St Joseph Health: St. Joseph Hospital and St Joseph East, CHI St Joseph Health Continuing Care Hospital and the following facilities: Frankfort Rehab and Care, Fountain Circle Care and Rehab Center, Bluegrass Care and Rehab, Mayfair Manor, Signature HealthCARE of Georgetown, Stanford Rehab and Care, Lexington Country Place, and HealthSouth Cardinal Hill.
Dr. Doodnauth also serves as the Medical Director at several of the listed skilled nursing facilities. He cares for patients both in the hospital and facility setting.
In his spare time, Dr Doodnauth enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, fishing and lounging on the couch.

Quality of care is measured monthly to ensure high standard of care. Dr Doodnauth is affiliated with CHI St Joseph Hospital, providing uninterrupted care if resident is hospitalized
